1. Minnesota Vikings- They back up last weeks performance with another great one in week two. Veteran running back Ricky Williams does all he can to show the years of pot smoking and hanging with Lenny Kravitz is behind him as he rushes for 139 and a TD. The Vike’s D did enough to vault them to the #1 spot. If QB Alex Smith can live up to his potential Minnesota could be VERY dangerous.
2. Seattle Seahawks- Going into mile high is never easy but the Hawks make it look that way in week two with a 34-14 victory. With the linebackers the Broncos have I would have expected them to slow A.P. down, but another 200 yard game puts Peterson at the top of the early MVP race.
3. Indianapolis Colts- After defeating my last weeks #1 and starting 2-0 it would be hard for me to leave them out again. Not a convincing win but with 4 interceptions against the Giants, this D could keep them in games. They defiantly need to get something going on the ground for me to keep them in my top ten.
4. Detroit Lions- Maybe they deserve to be higher but its tough being Detroit. With all the high expectations this season its hard to say if they will fall short again. The one thing I do know about the Lions is that they can score. If Matt Ryan can do something to reduce the picks they may be #1 before its all said and done.
5. Cleveland Browns- The dog pound make my top 5 this week with a nice home win against the Chiefs. Rookie QB Jimmy Clausen shows off his talent with 381 yards 0 picks and 5 TD’s. Maybe this is the year for the Browns.
6. St. Louis Rams- After a delayed start due to connection problems, the boys of St. Louie get it right and shut down the run. Steven Jackson had a good day, breaking the 100 mark again for the second game in a row, but QB Mark Sanchez only completed only 3 passes in a lackluster showing in week two. Jabari Greer led the defense with 2 interceptions, the D had 5 total. But due to controversy I’ll have to leave the Rams at #6 this week. Raiders owner is a great player and had some bad luck...my apologies King
7. Washington Redskins- The skin’s completely blow out the Texans this week 52-17. This is another team that could’ve been higher on the list but with a league this stacked it will be hard to rank for the first 4-5 weeks. Jake Delhomme did a great job spreading around the ball, but I think the main story here is Deangelo Williams who thus far can’t be stopped. Look for it to be a battle in week 3 when the Skins take on the Rams.
8. Pittsburgh Steelers- The Steelers do it again, this time in the run game. Pittsburgh’s backs combine for 149 yards and that potent secondary get 2 picks to stop the Titans of Tennessee
9. Cincinnati Bengals- This weeks game in Cincy was a nail biter. The Ravens came in with something to prove against there division rival but came up just a lil short with a score of 21-17. WR Boldin showed that he is a star after getting 133 receiving yards on the day. This offence is a sleeper in this league and Drew Brees is gonna do everything he can to get the W, look for the Bengals to be a top ten team all season long.
10. San Diego Chargers- Coming in at the ten spot is the Chargers. After a late change at owner this team showed up and put away the Jags. This could be what the Bolts need to get them going. With the Chargers D getting 6 picks on Sunday this could be a secondary to be afraid of.
